About our work
The PCCA Education & Research Foundation was created, in part, to address the workforce shortage in the utility construction industry. Utility contractors around the country all report similar situations with their workforce, telling us they need more qualified workers to deal with record workloads.
A pilot program
The PCCA Education & Research Foundation's pilot program at State Technical College of Missouri is a success largely due to the volunteer support of local PCCA member Sellenriek Construction. Students started in the school’s new Utility Systems Technician program in the fall of 2018.
Conducting research
The PCCA Education & Research Foundation will conduct research and provide education to stakeholders involved in broadband and energy infrastructure. Programs like the Federal Communications Commission's Connect America Fund would have been more robust and cost effective with assistance from the foundation.
