Do you have a question about our scholarship program?

Before contacting us, please review the questions below to see if your question is listed.

How do I apply?

Visit our website: http://www.pccaerf.org and look for the Scholarship menu. After reading the application instructions and eligibility requirements, click on the link for the Scholarship application.

What is the dollar amount of the scholarship?

Each scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $10,000 (payable in up to four annual $2,500 disbursements). Up to four will be awarded annually.

Who is eligible for a PCCA scholarship?

Student applicants must be dependants of full or regular part-time employees of a PCCA contractor or associate member company who has at least one year of continuous service with that company on January 1 of that academic year. The employee must continue to be employed by a PCCA member's company in order to maintain scholarship eligibility.

Applicants may be high school seniors graduating that academic year, current undergraduate college students, and students not currently enrolled in college between the ages of 18 and 24.

The student selected to receive an award must have had a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) during his/her high school or college years. SAT and/or ACT test scores may be considered but are not required.

The student selected for the award must follow a full-time college course of study or major in a four-year college or university, two-year junior, or community college or vocational-technical school. The student must complete a minimum of twelve credit hours each grading period.

Do I need to complete the FAFSA?

Although the PCCA Scholarship Program is not a "needs based" program, you are advised to complete the the annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA, regardless of family income.  There is no application fee, and the eligibility information received from the application will assist with budgeting for educational related expenses. Your school of choice will use the FAFSA to determine other financial aid you may be eligible for. Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible after January 1.

Does the amount I receive in scholarships affect my eligibility for financial aid?

Yes. Often the scholarship provider gives your award to the college you are attending as credit towards your tuition. If this happens, the school adjusts your unmet financial need accordingly.

What is the deadline for submitting an application for a PCCA Scholarship?

The deadline for submitting your application is February 15th for the upcoming academic year.

How can I submit supporting documentation?

The online application allows you to upload files. You may also email them to us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

When will I know if I have been awarded a scholarship?

After the applications have been reviewed, the selections will be verified by the PCCA scholarship committee which meets at the PCCA Annual Convention. Scholarship recipeints will be published in the Q2 issue of the PCCA Journal.

How will I be notified of an award?

Award notification will initially be sent by email.

Will I receive a scholarship check?

No. The PCCA Education and Research Foundation will mail a check directly to the student's school.

Can I apply for more than one year?

Yes. Although not guaranteed, you are eligible to receive up to four years of scholarship funds as long as you meet the eligibility requirements listed and you are selected. You may apply every year you are eligible.
